Time of Butterfly near Beast Lord Tribe.
Time of Butterfly is a series of side quests players can do alongside the Apex Sky Quest Chain for extra experience, spirit, and vitae. Collecting all 5 butterflies will also grant the player the Time of Butterfly title. All butterflies are located in the Western Steppes around the southeast corner of the map.
Quests[ | ]
To access these quests, you must first dig its corresponding Time of Butterfly. You do not need a quest to dig the butterfly, but you can only dig it once. When you collect your first butterfly, you will receive the "Time of Butterfly" quest to collect all 5 Time of Butterflies. When you collect all 5, they will disappear and you will receive the Time of Butterfly title. To avoid losing all the butterflies before doing the quests, it is recommended to pick up one of the quests before digging all 5, and then do the remainder of the quests before finishing the original one.
When taking a quest, your Time of Butterfly will be consumed. It will be given back to you once the quest has been finished.
Quests can only be picked up after completing part of the Apex Sky Quest Chain. Some quests may also have other requirements.
Time of Butterfly I[ | ]
The Time of Butterfly for this quest is located behind a house in Hannibal Village (512, 536). To do the quest for this butterfly, you must first complete the quest "The Scarecrow's Gratitude".
Quest Dispatcher: Scarecrow Bod, Hannibal Village (515, 542)
- Wait 5 seconds. The quest will complete on its own.
Time of Butterfly II[ | ]
The Time of Butterfly for this quest is located in the lake at Alchemist Clan (597, 516). To do the quest for this butterfly, you must first complete the quest "Dreamland".

- Talk to Father Hans outside the Church in Neverfall (379, 587).
Time of Butterfly III[ | ]
The Time of Butterfly for this quest is located on top of the skull at Palace of Doom (602, 543 ↑32). To do the quest for this butterfly, you must first complete the quest "Return to Abyss!". You cannot pick up this quest if you have already completed the quest "Apex Sky: More Victories".
This quest will give the player the experience, spirit, and vitae rewards twice.
Quest Dispatcher: Grieved Wanderer, Forum of Oblivion (546, 454)
- When picking up the quest, you can choose to give him the butterfly or not give it to him. This will not affect the reward or objectives, but the quest you will receive will be different.
- You will either receive the quest "Dead with Regret" or "Misunderstood Kindness".
- Talk to the Dead Wanderer (531, 479) in the Forum of Oblivion.
Time of Butterfly IV[ | ]
The Time of Butterfly for this quest is located on a rock west of Beast Lord Tribe (536, 498). To do the quest for this butterfly, you must first complete the quest "Dreamland".
Quest Dispatcher: Elemental Spirit, Sacred Spirit Plains (556, 509)
- Talk to Dreaming Mohawk at the Alchemist Clan (585, 506).
Time of Butterfly V[ | ]
The Time of Butterfly for this quest is located on top of a floating rock at Forum of Oblivion (542, 471 ↑20). To do the quest for this butterfly, you must first complete the quest "Celebration: Dawn Never Sets" which is the pre-last quest of the Apex chain.
Quest Dispatcher: Light Empress Althea, Paladin's Square - Neverfall (361, 601)
- Go to Sacred Spirit Plains (536, 508) between height 18 and 20.
