A Messenger of the Sages NPC can be found in any of the races' main cities and in Archosaur (see below for coordinates). The purpose of these NPCs is to allow you to turn in the various badges for either Spirit Points (SP) or signs, or to create "Sage" weapons. As such, there is no point in talking to these NPCs until you have some badges already.

The Badges and Signs

There are seven badges, and each can be turned in for a certain amount of Spirit Points at a certain minimum level, and can only be gotten from certain quests or events:

Badge of Courage	80	8,000	City of Abominations (100 or 50 Astral Orbs)
Badge of Bravery	90	2,000	City of Abominations (600 or 400 Astral Orbs) -or- any PW Boutique Agent (4 Perfect·Token of Best Luck)

You can turn in ten of one type of badge for a corresponding sign at the Messenger of the Sages, which is worth eleven times the Spirit Points. So, for example, you can trade in ten Badges of Speed (worth 2,000 SP each, totaling 20,000 SP) for a Sign of Speed (worth 22,000 SP).

Sage Weapons

If you are level 90+, collect one of each of the seven Signs, and get enough reputation to get Rank VI, you will be able to trade them in for one of the grade 13 "Sage" weapons:
