Forest Ruins

Jungle Ruins is an event based around racing through a deadly obstacle course. Previously, it used to occur weekly, however as of the Neverfall Content Update it has since been deactivated. Instead, it has become a randomly-occurring event as it can be activated manually by a GM. Entry is only open for the first 30 minutes to any player level 30+.

The event is centered around a race to the finish line while navigating a dangerous map of twists, traps, and tunnels. This event is unique since it involves no PvP aspect and no mob killing which puts players of all classes and levels on equal footing. There are mobs and traps that can kill you but there is no loss of EXP.

The rewards you receive depend on how far you progress into the maze and how quickly you finish. If you make it to the end, your choice of ring at the start and your choice of jade in the middle also determine your final reward.

How to Enter[ | ]

Before entering Jungle Ruins you can pick up a bonus quest from the Head Hunter at the center of Archosaur. This quest involves making it to the first NPC within Jungle Ruins and can be pretty rewarding.

To enter Jungle Ruins, speak to the Treasure Seeker of the Jungle found around Archosaur at (525 684), (572 678), and (584 633).

What do you do once you enter?[ | ]

At the start there are 3 NPCs to talk to.

  • Guide of the Ruins: He gives you a timed quest to make it to the end on Jungle Ruins as quickly as you can. The faster you complete this task, the more EXP you will receive.
  • Relic Keeper·Cutter: He gives you a choice or two rings to choose from at the start of the Journey: Heaven or Devil. If you make it to the end, your choice of ring will determine which reward is available to you. Only one of these choices is correct but it is randomly chosen every week.
  • Crest Forger: For a small coin fee he will use a magical spell to turn you into a frog. As a frog you can move considerably faster than your usual speed but are unable to use skills. Genie skills and apothecary pots are still available.

Purchasing a frog enchantment is optional but you should definitely talk to the other 2 NPCs before setting forth.

Navigating Jungle Ruins[ | ]

Your ultimate goal is to make it to the final chamber but there are several rewards to pick up along the way. There are 7 areas to Jungle Ruins each presenting its own unique challenges: Rebirth of Nightmare, Sanction Corridor, Miasma Swamp, Magical Stairways, Scorching Cloister, Moonmist Chamber and Aurora Hall.

At the Magical Stairways you are given a choice of 8 Jades which in combination with your choice of Ring from the start will determine your final prize in the final chamber.

The Jungle Guardians[ | ]

There are 5 jungle guardians along the way which each give a quest to receive a Shattered Jungle Crest. The bonus quest available from the Head Hunter involves reaching the first of these Guardians in the 3rd room. A Shattered Jungle Crest can be turned in to the Crest Forger at the start for 1 event gold.

Rewards[ | ]

There are numerous rewards to be found in Jungle Ruins. Turning in a Shattered Jungle Crest will reward you 1 Event Gold for the Event Boutique.

You receive an EXP reward in the final chamber depending on how long it took you to finish.

Finally, you can get a reward in the final chamber depending on the choice of ring you made at the start and the choice of jade in the middle. The final NPC will randomly choose a correct ring and jade combination every week and to receive a reward, you must get at least part of this combination correct. There are three such rewards and each has a limit to the number of players that can receive it. The ultimate prize for choosing both the correct ring and the correct jade can only be received by 1 player but the other rewards have higher limits.

Choice Reward Reward Limit
Correct Ring 100 Mirage Stones + 100 Socket Stones 10
Correct Jade 99 Celestial Insignias 5
Correct Ring + Correct Jade Jungle Relic: Key 1

The Jungle Relic: Key can be exchanged for a choice of Jungle Ruins Belt at the Magical Altar only in the first 30 minutes. After that it is useless. Oddly once the Key has been forged the correct choice of ring for the 100 Mirage + 100 Socket Stone reward will be flipped between Heaven and Demon.

Tips[ | ]

  • Take off all your armor. Mobs in there either one shot you or do damage depending on your maximum HP. There is no benefit at all to having high HP and it will only make it harder to heal yourself.
  • If you log out (or get logged out due to excessive lag) whilst in the area, then log back in the next day - you are still inside and can explore the layout; though all of the event stuff will be missing, so it is safe.
